Mazda has spent years earning a reputation for building cabins that feel closer to luxury than the price suggests, and the CX-50 is where that effort is most obvious. This specific one adds a 12-speaker Bose audio system, heated and ventilated front seats with three levels of adjustment, a heads-up display, and 20-inch black metallic wheels with machined cuts that give it a presence most crossovers in this segment never achieve. Picture yourself pulling into the parking garage at work, the heads-up display going dark as you shut it off, and those wheels catching the overhead light as you walk away.

The interior here does something that takes time to appreciate on a longer drive, which is where the ventilated seats and the Bose system start working together rather than feeling like separate features. On a two-hour stretch with the volume up and the seat cooling on, the cabin stops feeling like a crossover and starts feeling like somewhere you actually want to be, and that shift happens quietly, without announcing itself.
